Peak of Mosquito Mountain

Moxie Falls Hiking Trip:  $40/pp

Here's your chance to come see Maine’s largest waterfall, Moxie Falls, with U.S. Rafting.  This three hour trip will start by meeting your guide at our base lodge and getting a pre-trip safety speech.  Then we climb in the vans to head to Moxie Falls.  The hike in is on a ½ mile maintained path, great for the whole family, both young and old.  Once we reach our destination, you’ll be able to view the falls from one of the several boardwalks built atop of the steep wooded gorge that allows great photo opportunities.  Bring a water bottle, snacks, and don’t forget your camera.  We take our time and enjoy the day taking pictures and just taking in the beauty of the falls.  Tours are twice daily and leave at 9:30am or 6:00pm.  This allows you to get back for lunch or your night around the campfire.
(Tips are not expected for our guides but are appreciated.)

Appalachian Trail to the Peak of Pleasant Pond Mountain: $89/pp

Here’s a chance to come hiking on the Appalachian Trail in Maine with U.S. Rafting.  The Appalachian Trail is challenging but rewarding with a minimum age of 8 years old.  The AT is a 2,170 mile stretch that starts at Springer Mountain in Georgia and runs to Mount Katahdin in Maine.  This hike is the Pleasant Pond Mountain portion in Caratunk, Maine.  We'll start out at our base lodge, The Outpost, at 9:30am.  You'll meet your guide and then we jump in the vans and head to the mountain.  We will hike the 1.6 miles to the Peak of Pleasant Pond Mountain (2,480 ft.) and the overall trip is approximately 6 hours.  We take our time and enjoy the hike as it’s not a race to the top!  If you’d like to bring a lunch with you to eat at the top of the mountain, feel free to pack one!  Please make sure you bring a backpack to put your lunch in as this will leave your hands free for hiking safely.  We recommend bringing a couple of water bottles, snacks, and a camera to make your trip more enjoyable.

Canoe Rentals: $25/pp

Rent a canoe for fishing or a leisurely sight-seeing adventure for 8 hours on Indian Pond.  Indian Pond is large and very scenic with little intrusions on the shoreline, and the few boats plying the water have thirty-five miles of shoreline and nearly six square miles of surface area to share. This wildlife paradise sports healthy populations of deer, moose, bear, coyote, fox, beaver, osprey, eagle, loon, and fish. Because it is a big lake, one must be wary of winds from any direction, but it still represents a great opportunity for a family trip. Prominent fish species: Bass, lake trout, brook trout, and salmon.
(Price includes canoe, life jackets & paddles, 8 hours of rental time)

Kayak Rentals: $40/pp
